Equanimity: Detaching ourselves from the outcomes.

Equanimity – Balanced Towards Outcomes

A zen-story, I have shared with innumerable cadets and officers over the years 🙂

A student went to the monk and said “My meditation and daily practices is horrible! I feel so distracted, my legs ache, I’m constantly falling asleep and I’m not able to concentrate. It’s been horrible!”

The monk said “it will pass”.

A week later, the student went back to the monk. “My meditation is wonderful! I feel so aware, so peaceful, so alive! It’s just wonderful!’

The monk replied “It will pass”.
